SAUCEink: 10 Local Designers in Singapore You Need To Know About
After moving from Shanghai to Jerusalem in 2010, Gin Lee, a former womenswear design student at the time, decided it was the perfect opportunity for a new start and a leap of faith. Gin Lee channelled her passion for art and design in her new brand, and tailored for the everyday woman, the minimalist silks pieces from GINLEE became a synonym with practicality and comfort. Lee quickly learned to forego fashion trends in favour of achieving timelessness by combining traditional fabrics with modern silhouettes.
Once the brand came back to Singapore in 2015, multi-label stores like Keepers Singapore and TANGS started to stock on Lee’s work, and nowadays her pieces and bi-yearly collections earn praise from local newspapers and fashion glossies.
